OK, not really, but the headline today from the Deseret News could have said that.  Jim Matheson is supporting a bill that would require grocery stores with prepared food or restaurant chains with more than 20 stores to have available calorie counts on the food for sale.  

Is it really necessary for the Federal Government to be involved in things like this?  The answer is no, nor should they have the power to do it.  In this day of unlimited government power and reach, they will do whatever the heck they want to anyway.  

I was only part joking about ruining your meal.  When you are eating something, do you really want to know exacly how fattening something is?  If you are that concerned about it, there are online tools that will help you out anyway.   The intention is good, but the government is not the way to solve the problem.
